I Gede Dana Santika

My name is Dana, from Bali, Indonesia. I am a mathematics and science teacher. I am so interested to learn anything about education (curriculums, teaching strategies, classroom management, assessment). I’ve been experimenting with some learning strategies. My favorite is “Students as Teachers” learning strategy where the students perform as a real teacher (preparing, conducting, and evaluating lessons) for their peers.
I hold a bachelor degree in physics education. Although, I am supposed to teach senior high school physics, I prefer to teach elementary school science for a mission, which is to provide a quality integrated STEM Education in elementary level. STEM subjects in Indonesian elementary education system are currently taught by a classroom teacher who teaches all the general subjects, not a STEM specialized teacher. This results in problems such as misconceptions and memorization-based learning as teachers are not focused on mastering the STEM concepts.
