I’m Kim Marcelo and I am a full-time environmental educator for the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines. Coming from a beautiful country rich in biodiversity, it is a dream of mine to see every single Filipino enjoy, care for, and live harmoniously with nature. I believe concern arises from proper understanding and relatability, and that knowledge has the ability to empower people. This is why I love what I do – Environmental Education makes information accessible not just to scientists and those privileged enough to learn, but also to the common people. By reaching out, education serves as a vehicle to take positive environmental action. This I feel after every school and site visit, as I witness firsthand how conservation and stewardship becomes more and more of a shared responsibility among all Filipinos.
